Yeah, I think we should probably follow Vale documentation on this one.
Option 1 - Homebrew (and Snap?) Option 2 - Native Packages (in our case instructions for installing openSUSE Leap/Tumbleweed) with repology Option 3 - GitHub releases
Either way, native packages shouldn't be the first suggested option, and we should definitely add the repology link.
Please take these as my humble suggestions, I realize I'm new here and wouldn't dare assume authority. I'm contributing to Kanidm, and we plan to make use of as well as possibly help expand this style guide. Currently, we're building a slightly modified fork, but I hope to upstream anything useful I'm able to add.
I disagree, the repository should ideally direct users to distro-specific native packages as the third option. Most of these packages don't give us the latest version, which may matter more in this case, since Vale seems to be upgraded fairly regularly. The Leap package for example is over a year old whereas Vale's latest version came out last month.
Ideally, we would also mention that Arch and Tumbleweed both have the latest version.
