During Testbed-15 efforts it has become apparent that Federated Clouds Security focuses too much on Authentication and Authorization, leaving Accounting out of the picture (therefore forfeiting the 3rd "A" in AAA principles).
It is necessary to further analyze how Accounting as a Service can be delivered by a Federation (either as a brokerage component within a Federation Manager or as a standalone service-side component).
The discussion regarding Accounting is two-fold:
Enables security auditing needs
Correlates well with the current data-driven approach of the industry (understanding your userbase, extracting business intelligence, and eventually leading to more robust transactional billing services)
