Prompted by the requirement of having a cardinality estimate for any triple pattern in the Triple Pattern Fragments, and a method to implement it in the Attean APIs, it would be great if I could have an estimate from the database engine. Obviously, for this to be useful, it must require much less resources to compute an estimate than to actually evaluate a count query over the same triple pattern against the database.
