TIFF validation aborts on «Count mismatch for tag 306» #788

JHOVE 1.26 TIFF module (TIFF-hul, Rel. 1.9.3, 2022-04-22) aborts the validation of TIFF files (attached) if error messages start with «Count mismatch for tag 306» (JHOVE output attached). The error is correct and reports incorrect format of the date-time tag. Unfortunately, no (further) validation is performed by JHOVE and most JHOVE metadata is missing. We suggest that the error should be reported and that the validation should continue. All TIFF readers known to us can handle files containing this error. We have more than 10'000 TIFF files with this error and plan to re-run validation once this JHOVE Bug is fixed. JHOVE Output.txt E-rara ETH Bibliothek zut small 27109060.zip
