The new radio button option has been added. This can be used to provide a review on old reports where there isn't quite enough information to properly verify.
For new or recent reports, we shouldn't apply this field status - a review of matches/does not match policy can (and probably should) be considered accurate at the time it was made.
As Jim points out elsewhere, we're looking at the temporal modelling of the reports, so that all reports can be considered at a point-in-time and later changes to the sites and the policies don't have to be factored in.
For an example, if a site was blocked two years ago and the review at that time said the block was not in line with policy, we wouldn't change that review two years later to "no longer matches" because the policy has changed or the site use has changed to something that fits the blocking policy (hope that makes sense!).
I think the "no longer matches" is a special case of "unknown", to represent that there isn't enough information available on old reviews to validate the block against the policy (pretty much as described in the chat thread).
Thanks Daniel, all makes sense to me. One question though:
@dantheta @JimKillock Exactly how old does a report have to be for us to consider it old enough to use this new status? A year?
I am not so worried about the length of time; I think the question is:
1. Is the original report invalid because the site has clearly changed use, or died?
That is not something that is a matter of time, but of context. Sometimes it may be less clear, if the report didn't contain information about what the user saw. We should in any case be trying to close all the current reports, so I think it is OK to use within the recent months so long as the change of use is obvious.
Please add "Block no longer matches policy (site under new use or not used)" as an option.
