Describe expected behavior

What: Ability to start a trip search from a moving vehicle to make user-friendly clients.
Why: The conductor wants to sell tickets from the trip she serves, and a traveler wants to to see updates of the trip she is staying on and how to get to the final destination.
Why 2: Customer is on the way to work and the connecting bus gets stuck and the pre-planned trip is no longer possible. Custoemer wants to find a new trip proposal to replace the one that went wrong, in such a way that it takes into account the means of transport in which (s)he already is at that moment.

This si something Kolumbus needs as we already have the data/techology to tell if the customer is on board a moving vehicle, giving us the ability to provide much better travel suggestions for passengers that have already started their journey.

Please prioritize this issue.

This is a very useful feature indeed. The roadmap mentions this as within 12 months but so far I can't see much action on it. Is the status still correct?

HSL has this feature on 2024 roadmap but we can start working on this earliest at spring. We are short on resources (as always) but there are also some business decisions unmade around this subject. We are also waiting that our real time data would be more reliable than it is today because without it we cannot use this functionality as we have planned.

There has been some adjustments with schedules but now HSL/Digitransit will actually start working with this. Vesa Meskanen will start doing this within next few weeks.
