This is being worked on by @cheelee and @kevcmk in PyOpenWorm. We should have the same functionality for ChannelWorm.

Argh, left a comment on the other issue #144 prematurely! We should definitely replicate the infrastructure over to ChannelWorm, and then find common idioms.
