Electrical Failure #28

skeel3r commented 10 years ago

The DC barrel plug was soldered backwards on the Buck converter causing failure on the Brix, px4, ppm and rc-receiver.

The stm32f4 boards where replaced on the px4 as well as the voltage regulator. The bootloader is not loading on the stm boards, rendering our fixes useless until debugged.

The ppm microcontroller was swapped and firmware was flashed to it. The oscilliscope appears to show the correct ppm signal, but is difficult to know for sure.

The rc-receiver voltage regulator was replaced and the system led turns on when connected to an rc controller. Full confirmed functionality isn't confirmed for either the ppm or the rc-controller. This will be done tomorrow by swapping the functioning units out with the questionable ones.

We have purchased a new Brix to replace the old one. We swapped a broken p-ch mosfet with a new one but it's power led is still showing no responce. A voltage comparitor is becoming extremely hot, we will need to swap out this component next if we are to hope to fix the board.
