Initially, upon having arrived at a bare minimum viable shoe manufacturing system, the plan is to network with physical therapists, podiatrists, and other people knowledgeable in gait. A partnership will be established whereby they scan their client's feet, enter other pertinent information, and then the system gets to work making the shoes which are then delivered to the clinic for further fitting. The hope is that it can be a collaborative effort and in initial conversations with therapists, they seemed intrigued by the idea. However, it needs to be a time saver and not one more thing that eats into the small time window given to each patient. If the structure is as an ongoing cooperative agreement and not a set of more transactional one off sales, this will hopefully lead to long term partnerships. We need to factor in insurance coverage and ensure that we do not need to deal with this nightmare directly, for instance, there may be the need to go through an intermediary distributor to deal with Medicaid/care.
