Mission Planner fails to update properly when executed using MONO #581

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Strange results when Mission planner is updated on Linux+MONO (it seems to
always find a update, this was solved earlier.)

1.- Downloaded Planner ver 1.1.56
2.- extracted it into a folder.
3.- executed it - it found an update
4.- I allowed it to update 2 times in a row (it claimed there were an update
available)

the folder contains now:
(nothing else, and only one subfolder)

opps - missing files seems to be due to delayed sync between 4 computers
- only the "update available" is a valid issue.

is this still doing it?
when updates a re checked for it checks 2 things. the etag, and the file size.
there was an issue with 1.1.57 where the etag was being saved before the new
file was being downloaded. but thsi should be fixed now.

I also noticed strange behavior in "terminal" (not sure this is only in MONO)
When Terminal tab is clicked, (if not connected) - then an connection is
attempted.

worse: last letter in any terminal command is stripped - try to type "help",
and see it reply "hel" - typing "help " works - same goes for other commands
in terminal.

This is still a problem, although minor. MP crashes after update instead of
restarting. A few updates ago would put you in a loop where they tried to do
the same update every time you started it. Since 1.2.1 that hasn't been a
problem.

I just had an update (from 1.2.5 to 1.2.11) followed by a successful planner
restart rather than a crash. And it did to claim to find another update
immediately after updating. So, this issue appears fixed for me!

Oops, I (foobarbecue) posted as the wrong person above
(substantialnoninfringinguser). This appears fixed so I'm marking it as such.

true, it 1.2.9 updates and works as 11 too, it's only the 1.2.11.zip that fails
to start.
- fixed it is.
