I have tested it now in a vm with Gnome Shell 42, there is no error. And i use it on Gnome Shell 43.

For anyone who may be interested, I've integrated these patches into system-monitor-next:

Brilliant! I confirm that this is working on gnome 43.1 (Ubuntu 22.10 Kinetic)

Thanks for this! :+1: Since this PR was created two months ago: Is there a rough time frame when it will be integrated? This would be very helpful!

Many thanks again!

I just upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04, and I see I now have GNOME Shell 42.5.

I was using this tool in Ubuntu 20, and loved it. I'm wonder how/if I can get it working in 22.04. Maybe I have to wait for this PR to merge? I'm somewhat confused because the PR explicitly mentions GNOME 43, and I'm on 42.5.

@arderyp You can try https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/3010/system-monitor-next/, which is an extension built from this fork of this repo and contains this fix.
