Nextcloud has introduced a new viewer API: https://github.com/nextcloud/viewer/

Implementing it makes it possible for people in a chat to see a document while staying in the chat.

I think it's reasonable for integration apps to use the Viewer API exclusively now that versions that didn't support it are all pretty much EOL now.
