I second this, the offline version of piskel doesnt even run under Fedora 37 because of some highly specific dependencies that only existed in older systems :/
I installed EndlessOS for a kiddo with limited internet access who could benefit from Piskel. It's unfortunate that I couldn't get Piskel to run on linux (Ubuntu or EndlessOS). Would be great to have some documentation or even better a way to install using flatpack / apt-get.
@yazad3 I filed this hoping we could pre-install Piskel on Endless OS. For now, we've pre-installed Pixelorama and I've also heard good things about LibreSprite; those may be worth checking out!
Thank you, I'll try this app out for the kiddo.
I'm interested in helping to make Piskel more broadly available, especially to users of Endless OS and other Linux desktops.
The defacto packaging format that works across all modern Linux desktops and is pre-included in many is Flatpak, so it would be awesome to get Piskel packaged as a Flatpak. It would also make it more portable, as any required dependencies would be included or handled automatically. It would also help with discoverability, as it could be added to Flathub, the app store repository that is pre-included in many Linux-based OSes like Fedora, Endless OS, PureOS, Manjaro, Mint, Pop!_OS, Zorin OS, Clear Linux, KDE Neon, etc.
