I tend to think the master volume for the whole computer is good enough, and too many volume knobs just leads to confusion, but maybe I'm not aware of the scenarios where this is applicable. Any thoughts?

The best reason for this is for people (such as myself) who listen to the music while they are working. I have a lot of other notifications setup that are important for me to hear so it is beneficial to me to be able to strictly turn down the music volume as opposed to the master or even the browser.

I'm sure other people in IT who manage servers have browser based alert systems that fire off alarms on service outages that need to be much louder than everything. That's a very specific example but I am sure you can see where I am going with it... Still love the site.
