I'm sure this has been discussed at some point, but I couldn't find an specific issue about it.
In the TBStatswe have two attributes which pertain to the Genus+species group of attributes, namely Taxon Genus and Taxon Species.
Recently, upon discussing with the rest of the POA team, we concluded that for general users it might not be implicit that the field Taxon Species should only include the specific name, rather than the full species name, which as per the official definition of "Species" should be Genus+specific (can include subgenus and subspecies if present).
Not sure what would be the best solution, but my suggestion would be to just relabel Taxon Species as Taxon Epithet and maybe have a new Taxon Species which follows the definition of Species more accurately. Currently, to search for a species name, we need to use both Taxon Genus and Taxon Species together, which is fine for the expert user, but not implicit that you can't use the full species name in the latter.
