Special characters cause infinite redirects #4824

Describe the bug Special characters in URLs cause infinite redirects. Check video below.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Type a URL with special characters (spaces or àùò etc)
  2. The browser created an infinite number of redirects adding ++api++ everytime
