Hi,
Thanks for pointing it out. I tried to "fix" it by lightening my graphics, but unfortunately that doesn't work. They look like normal toolbar items (i.e. a nice gray), but when you click on them (when the button is pressed down, but you haven't released the mouse button yet), they become a very "black" kinda gray which looks extremely unpleasant. I think it's because in those cases OS X "inverts" the colors for the "ON" state (which is white, or very light gray).
It could be fixed, I'm sure - But the I think the leftmost button ("Show Sidebar") would lose its nice "pressed in" state (when the sidebar is visible) which isn't a nice thing!
So, I have to keep them the way they are.
:)
The buttons added by BetterDictionary use black labels, whereas the built in buttons are grey.
