Low Battery Notification Too Subtle? #580

Hi System76! Thanks for Cosmic DE I'm loving the alpha so far.

One thing I have noticed since installing it last week is my HP DevOne suddenly runs out of battery to my surprise. The screen has gone dark two or three times at 2% battery already. I've had to rush to find a power cable and once my machine ran completely out of power before I got to it. I'm not sure if there is a battery low notification on screen before this happens, but I think I remember Pop 22.04 would alert me when the battery was at 20% and 10% with a distinct sound notification to pair with the UI alert in the top right.

Is an audible low battery alert already part of Cosmic DE's battery applet and I just haven't noticed?

There's another interesting issue I've seen (probably some compatibility issue? but shouldn't be the case) is that not only the battery messages are subtle (they should be alert dialogs beyond a critical point that prevent the user from doing anything without acknowledging it), but also that my laptop has a LED which blinks when the power is low which has broken since I switched to COSMIC from i3.

You should be hearing a sound every 3 seconds. Do you have pop-sound-theme installed?

I don't think so. Does it come bundled with COSMIC or Pop!_OS? Or is it installed separately?

Either way, I wouldn't want a sound playing every 3 seconds. My laptop's native LED blinker working would be enough, but it's broken on COSMIC.
