Dock not showing after upgrading Pop!OS #100

Hi, I recently upgraded from Pop!OS 20.04 to 21.10 and the new cosmic dock won't appear. I think I used latte-dock when I was using 20.04, but I can't check all my old extensions because they were removed when upgrading. I have since tried stopping latte-dock from starting on startup and removing it, but still no dock will show up.

I've tried messing with a majority of the desktop settings and tried gnome-extensions reset cosmic-dock@system76.com as one Reddit post recommended, but still don't have it working.

are you using Latte 0.10.5 ?

I removed latte through apt, so I don't think I have any version latte installed.

I tried turning off Cosmic Dock and Pop Cosmic, when I press the Super key it shows my open applications and has a dock (even though the docks doesn't appear normally, like when bringing my mouse to the bottom of the screen). I assume this is a different dock from Cosmic though

I had a similar issue after an upgrade. The upgrade made my Dash to Dock dock disappear. After messing around in the settings app, I was able to get a dock showing (maybe it was the Cosmic dock, I don't know) but I couldn't customize any of the appearance, and it was super ugly. My launcher shortcut broke and my computer became basically inaccessible. I finally managed to launch some apps via the Pop Store and then re-install Dash to Dock which now seems to be mostly working, except that the launcher still won't open.

Gnome will generally remove extensions after upgrade. Dash-to-dock is not compatible with pop os, there is an extension that is though. https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/5004/dash-to-dock-for-cosmic/

I had same issue, tried everything to solve it. Finally this extension worked for me : https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/4703/dock-from-dash/

I may just be confused on this, but doesn't that just make dash-to-dock work? My issue is trying to get Cosmic Dock to work.

Dash-to-dock looks like almost same as cosmic dock so i wanted to share it :)

Sorry, I didn't mean you @metetik. I appreciate you sharing the option. I was more referring to @13r0ck closing the issue, since this doesn't really solve the issue at hand and it's not even a work around. I've found other people with the same issue and it'd be great if the cosmic dock could work for everyone when they update their OS.

My apologies, I misunderstood the issue. In your original issue you mention 21.10, we are now on 22.04, does the issue persist in 22.04?

Yeah, just upgraded and the issue is still there sadly

If you open the extensions app, is cosmic-dock enabled? Or are there any errors reported?
