Dual Monitor `Super + P` not maintaining monitor Configuration #3403

PuranjotSingh commented 3 weeks ago

i have a dual monitor setup with my laptop as the other monitor on landscape on top on the laptop ... when i use Super + P to enable or disable any particular screen ... and then join them back the monitor configurations {like resolution, orientation etc} is changed to the default settings somehow ... note this problem does not occur when maybe locking the screen or logging out and logging in .. only in this case ... here is an example

default config

image my monitor at 1920x1080 with orientation above my laptop display

when i do Super + P --> Join Displays

image my monitor at 1366x768 with orientation on the right of my laptop display

Note if i do Super + P --> External Only Then it also reverts back to the 1366x768 config....

To Recreate:

  1. Connect an external monitor
  2. give configurations and orientations to the external monitor (in this example : 1920x1080 and above the inbult display)
  3. press Super+P and select any option .
  4. The config should have changed....

i am new to Cosmic and knowing its in alpha i am assuming this problem is new ... please help If any solutions ......

Your screenshot looks like Gnome, not COSMIC.
