"Error creating Device record" during Pycom Upgrade #554

System information:

(sysname='LoPy4', nodename='LoPy4', release='1.20.2.r0', version='v1.11-783192e on 2020-08-06', machine='LoPy4 with ESP32',
lorawan='1.0.2', sigfox='1.0.1', pybytes='1.5.1')

I'm attempting to upgrade the firmware on my new LoPy4 with an ExpansionBoard v3.1. If I leave the 'Enable Pybytes / SmartConfig support' checkbox checked, the 'Pybytes registration' page displays 'Creating device, please wait...', but nothing happens (I've waited for 10 minutes):

If I restart the process and uncheck the 'Enable pybytes / SmartConfig' checkbox, I receive an 'Error creating Device record' error when the upgrade process begins:

I've tried this under Windows and Linux and receive the same error. I've also upgraded the ExpansionBoard firmware, but the error persists.

Any help is appreciated.

Forgot to mention, the main reason I'm doing the upgrade is to get a SigFox ID and PAC, so I can connect to the network. Is there an alternative way of generating these that doesn't require an upgrade?

I've been able to work around this by manually downloading the firmware file. Presumably there is something wrong with the server the Firmware Update tool uses to retrieve the firmware.
