In fullscreen does not work on / off subtitles [V] - show / not shown
subtitles works only in window.

Does V work if the mouse is over the controls or over a letter box area? If it 
does,
then mplayer is intercepting the key and not giving it to gnome-mplayer. This 
happens
with some window managers.
