Unable to duplicate this problem... does gnome-mplayer -v from a terminal give
an
additional information?

I can seek only using forward and backward keys on the keyboard. As soon I
click on
the control it returns to the beginning.
I see no additional information or error from -v

Can you please tell me what version this used to work with? And then I can
check the
changes from there.

You also may need to do a make distclean and recompile as some things did
change in
the code.

Does r1706 work properly? I cannot duplicate your problem so you will need to
help
bisect the SVN version that introduced the problem.

Can you retest with SVN r1714 and mplayer SVN r31346 and higher. It solves the
seek issues on my machine with poorly encoded video files.

Any updates on this?

I mistakenly put Mint 9 instead of 7 when I submitted the problem.

Now I am using Mint 9 and more recent svn and also on new graphic card, same
driver though. Problem disappeared.
