mute stops working on new file #581

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a file
2. Turn the volume all the way down (aka Muted)
3. Open a new file

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The second file should also be muted instead it plays at a very low volume
despite the volume button saying Muted.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Gnome-mplayer v1.0.5b2 (svn 2193)

I think it depends on the audio device you are using. When using a specific
pulse audio device it works as expected, when using Default I can duplicate
your issue. I think pretty much this is best I can do as Default is using
software volume control and may be limited as I find that mplayer does not even
mute at 0% but just lowers the volume all the way down.

So the only fix is to select a specific sound device for the output? Well
thanks for the confirmation. At least its not a Gnome-mplayer bug.
