Server with SRV DNS records #198

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Some SIP server's have SRV DNS records to support server failover. Sipdroid
currently does A record lookup against the server. Are there any plans to
support SRV DNS lookup in future release?

I agree, most if not all SIP clients can handle SRV records. Sipdroid should
too.

http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3263 has the description of what sipdroid should
support.

a subset of that functionality would already go a long way though. NAPTR
support is not as important as basic SRV record support.

Lumicall - http://www.lumicall.org - now implements DNS SRV lookup - it also
features TLS, ENUM dialing, ICE/TURN support for NAT traversal and many other
essential features

Does lumicall support SIP over TCP? And if so, does it support setting the
registration timeout and a keep-alive interval?
And does it support multiple accounts?
