Raster Simbology Improvement #39746

I am a freelance in geomatics application so I daily manage digital elevation models and everything concerning 3D features. I would really appreciate if the Raster simbology could have the same classification types such as for vector files, in particular "Pretty Breaks" and "Natural Breaks" classification. I hope this can be considered and added to next QGIS versions.

Really hope Natural Breaks (Jenks) can be added to the raster styling. When dealing with density rasters which has a large number range, it can be misleading to use equal interval or quantile.

gasato commented 3 years ago

This is an important feature we need for raster symbology.

@gasato then consider hiring a QGIS developer to develop it. See the "commercial support" on qgis.org site.

Can the PyQGIS class QgsClassificationJenks to be used to perform Jenks classification on raster data?

baswein commented 2 years ago

Adding the new Fixed Interval mode now available for vectors to this wish list.

Similar questions crop out regularly e.g. on stackexchange. This, for instance: https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/387261/specify-absolute-center-for-bi-directional-color-ramp-in-qgis

in general, many, me included, perceive a need for finer-grained control on color ramps such as

For examples of "clever" colorramping, have a look for instance at what Surfer does... https://surferhelp.goldensoftware.com/colormapeditor.htm

I think "manually defined breakpoints" is related to

Imhoff's cartographic palette method for DEM issues#44019

At present is possible to manually define breakpoints by:
