[Bug] Can't Cast to Smart TV // Working with YouTube Vanilla App

Describe the bug

Can't detect SmartTV device on the cast list devices. I can cast to Chromecast, Google Nest but it does not find Smart TV devices with YouTube ON

I think it started after updating uYou+ on iOS 16.

Does the issue happen with the official YouTube from AppStore?

It shows my TV when I tap on "connect via tv code" and then cancel. Then my tv is been displayed again.

And my tv is just called "YT on TV"

Really annoying.

I’ve ensured the app has access “local network”, the app should automatically find all my TV’s and show them like on the stock YouTube app. Something is wrong with this app :-( - i think it may have started when I updated to iOS 16?

OK so I have discovered the app isn’t asking for local network permissions, that’s why it isn’t seeing any castable devices. I think it’s a bug in the app. Can we get the dev to check somehow?

Yeah it's seems to ask it.

Just turn the switch permission to default on the app setting (in the iOS settings app)

Can confirm, as a new user the app doesn’t ask you the local network permission, nor it shows the permission check on app settings via the iOS Settings app.

Also running into this issue and it's been a pain point for me for months. Even with the latest version the app is unable to see other local devices. I know development restarted back on uYouPlus, so if we could prioritize this as it would make a world of difference

You can cast using the Home Screen rather than when the video is played. But, it contains ads.
