This is tested on target: armhf Debian Jessie (the new Altera soc fpga port) Host: Debian ( (jessie) pc Qt5.4.1

You first make a new Machine kit application           name: xxxx
Then a maching new QtQuickVcp Project                name: xxxx_qvcp

deploy both projects, and then do:

mklauncher ~/projects/xxxx

on your target, and the project shows up in machinekit client.....
