Looks great so far, but currently only supports images without file extensions, e.g. /assets/legend/qwc_demo/edit_points is detected, but not /assets/legend/qwc_demo/edit_points.png.

Could you extend the image detection to support any file extension (i.e. <layer name>.*)?
