How to import E2EE vault key, or star over #15

The process to create an E2EE vault key went too fast, or I accidentally exited the dialogue. It just disappeared. Now the encryption manager says “import“ the key and opens my media picker dialogue. There are no new files on my internal or external storage to be found. What am I looking for and where is it saved by default?

Also, I need to use encryption to synch to my other Android and Windows desktop once installed. Would it be the same key? Do I need to import the key file I can't find onto those devices? (Sorry. I'm still wrapping my head around various encryption procedures.)

If the key wasn't saved can I start over with an unencrypted vault with the same account? (I am a new user so I'm not losing anything.)

BTW, this post should not have been closed because I believe he had the same problem. The process is unclear and the dialogue disappears too quickly (I think?)

Hey,

there is no way to restart the process. if you lost your keys we need to reset the whole account.

In which device you first setup the e2ee key? open the app on that device and export the key. and then import it in your other devices.
