valid species in Inventory for garlic?

Hi Holly, 
a bit confused on which species we are considering valid, 
Allium sativum 
Allium sativum var. sativum
(It seems like in many cases you moved the valid to the variety, so thats why 
this one (being valid at species level and not at variety, which is listed as a 
synonym) seems odd...

(i.e. when searching in crops for A sat sat, it just takes you to A sat).

in these cases before we had both listed as valid, like here:

shall we do this for garlic too?

I believe this is another issue with taxonomy and the PlantList having these 2 
subsps of Allium crop taxa combined as Allium sativum.
