Hello,

I have been using 'The Unarchiver' for ages... have just moved to a new Mac.
And Unarchiver.app ( latest version - and all formats are checked in the prefs
)
is the 'default app' for opening RARs.

But now, on 'double-clicking a RAR archive in the finder... Unarchiver
preferences open,
but nothing else happens. Only control-clicking and selecting 'open with
Unarchiver'
from within the contextual window does the archive unrar with Unarchiver.

Is there a preference file... that I should remove, or what exactly is
hindering the 'double-click option?

Many thanks, long time user and fan.

This is issue 583. It's caused by a number of third-party programs. Try to find
one you installed just before this started, and disable it. Or look at issue
583 for some hints which programs might cause it.

It's Default folder... thank you for taking the time to reply.
Now, why does Default Folder interfere with Unarchiver?

A mystery. It does something with the OS X code paths that happen before The
Unarchiver is even aware of it. Not sure why it seems to only break The
Unarchiver, but it loses the file names that are being sent before they ever
reach my code.

Well, out of the two... I'd prefer to have The Unarchiver running.
Thanks again, for making such a useful and time saving tool!

Newer versions of Default Folder X should have fixed the bug, though, I think.
If you upgrade to the latest does it still happen? If so, report it to them.
