Thanks Damian for your close look, I think the suggestions make a lot sense!
ok, thanks! working on them now, will PR soon
one more thing: don't you think that the "Notes to the translation" would work better as part of the Introduction to each comics, rather than a separate subpage? My argument for that is that 1) it fits more stylistically and is more usual to have that as part of the intro and 2) given that N is after F in the alphabet, now basically we have the covers and front matter of the comic but then randomly before the pages suddenly the translator's intro... Another option would be to change "Notes to the translation" to something starting with a letter that is before F... @LenaHenningsen
Oh, it's ordered alphabetically, that is a bit odd in my view. I mean, then every Vorwort closes the book and the Epilog opens it... I wrote the texts with that structure in mind, and if you also think that works better, I am all for it!! (Intro, Notes, References coming in one "string").
so i'm thinking to just add here https://readchina.github.io/comics/the-new-years-sacrifice/ at the end the "Notes to the trasaltion" as a final point before the links to the pages, what do you say? (and then analogously with The Watch).
Sorry, I don’t get what here means…
After:
On the one hand, the adaptations represent a reduction of the complexity and ambiguity of Lu Xun’s original and as such can be seen as a losing in the course of adaptation, with the realism inscribed into the images and with the loss of the ambiguous first-person narrator from Lu Xun’s short story. On the other hand, however, the comics in their variety of framing and individual painting styles serve to keep the story visible and meaningful to later generations of readers. In their simplicity, they provide access to the story to a readership who may not be literate enough to read the original – and they may add a distinct interpretation of the story for those readers familiar with the original, thus clearly representing a gain in adaptation.

yes, exactly!
If you prefare to keep the two texts separate, I propose to change "Notes to the translation" to "Foreword by the translators" and then it's the first item...
or even better maybe: "About the translation"?
Well, I think having them as one text would be better. BUT: having a subheader for the „notes on translation“ section would be handy for readers who think that a certain term is difficult to understand.

OK, so I changed almost everything as written above as well as:
About the covers: I also think that Front and Back cover should be separated, bzw. the Back cover be the very last item in each page. BUT: B is the second letter in the alphabet, so for that to work, we need to find some synonym that starts with R or later (so that it is located after Pages). For now, I left it as is, just made clear with the title that "Front and back cover" are together.
