older versions of git use master as the default branch, newer versions use main, so the state of initialized repo may vary per the host OS. The changes explicitly set the default branch name to main + change all the references.
the post-receive script initialization is fixed (missing quotes around EOT)

please ADD (leave master there as well) main branch to github actions
