Special character like !@#$ not available with the asus transformer keyboard #498

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Connect ssh
2. try to type the character ! with the asus dock keyboard

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

No output

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu -> 
About in the Host List)?

ConnectBot-git-tablet-2011-09-06_04-01-34. With the previous dev version, I was 
not getting the password prompt.

What type of system are you trying to connect to?

DD-WRT router or synology nas.

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a", and 
any other relevant information on the host?

uname -a : linux 2.6.24.111 ...

Can't give "echo $TERM" since I can't type the character $
Please provide any additional information below.

I can type those characters when prompted for the password or in the connect 
prompt but not in the ssh session.

Its worth noting that this issue is fixed in the fork 
`https://github.com/lorantkurthy/connectbot'.  Tested it on my Transformer ^^.  
Would love to see these improvements merged back into the core code base.
