Issue relates to the presumption of a battle vs the existing adjacent square, which automatically starts the combat phase by skipping (0d) to the attackers dice roll (1). Thus the workaround effectively ends that combat after the retargeting, allowing a valid combat to be setup.

Solution attempted is to modify the gCombatPhase
SGP trait in Combat Assist-No Dice Roll

After an ranged combat vs square, next combat adjacent to same square, but moving to another with Square option, failed to set up correctly, when the new target was clicked on:
Workaround was to drag the Attacker marker and re-apply it.
