What is the purpose of "friending" people through this site? #7

Not sure if it makes sense to post questions about functionality here- but will post this so I don't forget to ask later....

I understanding "friending" on a site like facebook, but why do we want or need to friend people through the Upoor site? Are there things that friends can see that non-friends can't see? Does this matter? My assumption is that anyone on the UPoor site should be able to see everyone else's posts - or maybe this kind of limiting/management becomes more necessary as the network of people grows?

I think you're on to something here Heather - I don't think we need the friending stuff or the activity feed or any of that right now, since all we're really using are the groups. Maybe we should really pare down what the site can do to make it easier to maintain and easier to use. I'm not 100% what's possible with that, since a lot of this comes as a package, but it's something I'll look into. Thanks!

Ha! Good point Heather! I think I friend people sort of automatically now without thinking. On Oct 13, 2014 4:13 PM, "Daniel Jones" notifications@github.com wrote:
