A known issue has been found where Blend files saved in earlier versions of Blender may not be compatible or fully functional when opened in Blender 4.2.
The cause of the issue is that some data from the addon saved into the Blend file in an earlier version is no longer available when opened in Blender 4.2. Later on into the development of Blender 4.2, If this is not already a known issue to the Blender developers, we will look into this further and report the issue.
The latest FLIP Fluids version 1.8.1 adds official compatibility support for the upcoming release of Blender 4.2 on July 16, 2024.

Blender 4.2 is set to release on July 16, 2024 and at this moment it is too early for us to begin extensively testing this version. We will start looking further into official Blender 4.2 support shortly after Blender 4.1 releases on November March 19, 2024.

A current known issue is that the motion blur render settings have moved in this version (#117913) and this will result in the FLIP Fluids sidebar > Initialize Motion Blur operator generating errors and not initializing the motion blur setup correctly.
