Editor window disappeared #57

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I was working fine with TikzEdt, but suddenly, I when I opened a .tex file
to edit it, the editor window disappeared
2. I'm using Windows
3. I didn't see any option to restore the editor. I rebooted the machine and
nothing happened.
4. I had to uninstall and re-install two times (the second one, verifying I
deleted everything).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

There is no editor, just the rest of windows (preview, log, files...)

For compilation problems: What is the error pdflatex reports? You find the
latex output in the textbox at the bottom of the TikzEdt main window. (You
can switch between Status/Latex output/Error list.)

What operating system and Latex distribution (Miktex/Texlive) are you
using?
Windows and Miktex

Please provide any additional information below.

The problem is solved now. I'm really enjoying working with this Editor.
Congrats!!!

This is a known problem with an earlier version of Tikzedt, that I fixed, or at
least I hoped I did...

The editor window is still present, but has zero width, including the slider
that allows to change the width. (For the user it is the same as not present,
of course.)

One quick fix is to delete the settings file to reset the width setting.

If you were using the newest version of Tikzedt when this happened (i.e., the
bug is still present) let me know.

Where is actually the settings file?

I also have this issue on version 0.2.3. Furthermore, there is no obviously
named Settings file in the installed directory, so I do not know how to fix. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled TikzEdt to no avail. I am using Windows 7.

The settings file is not in the install directory, but in
C:\Users\(your name)\Appdata\Roaming\Tikzedt\Tikzedt\0.2.3.0\Tikzedt.conf

(I'd rather have liked to place the config file in the install directory, but
by Win7 policy, an application needs admin rights to write to C:\Program
Files\...)

Thank you! I found the settings file and now have a working copy of TikzEdt.
