The R ecosystem is quite large, and there are other packages that overlap to some extent with the functionality in animovement. I'll try to compile a list of packages and papers and comment on how they mix and match. Should propably be turned into an article. Some of the packages listed could also just be used for their functionality (e.g. imputeTS).
