Installation interrupted while applying d3dcompiler_43

I'm trying to install mod organizer for fallout new vegas and I keep getting an "operation canceled" error with nothing I can gleam from the logs to explain why. Here's the log:

It looks like Protontricks died without any explicit errors or warnings while attempting to apply d3dcompiler_43.

Make sure you’re using a recent version of Protontricks and that the following command works:

protontricks 22380 -q d3dcompiler_43 d3dx9 || echo “Protontricks failed!”

Note that if you installed Protontricks using flatpak, you’ll have to replace “protontricks” with “flatpak run com.github.Matoking.protontricks” in the above command.

i had the same problem with oblivion, protontricks 22330 -q d3dcompiler_43 d3dx9 worked just fine
