Disabling short-cut keys disables the actual key functions #178

When you set the shortcut keys to "Disable" none of the shift or alt keys work.

I am running 1.5.5 r409 on an ADP1 and when I turn directory keys off, the 
shift and alt keys "work" but 
they are not sticky. So maybe this is not entirely fixed?
