[ ] integrate par_make_gridset into par_grid (custom pre-generated grid inputs optional)
[ ] quadtree for mode = "density" in par_make_gridset

Both are abandoned for ease of maintenance (i.e., 1) and difference from the expectation for quadtree (2).
