Ctrl^ Commands not working in Nano 2.2.6 #318

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start nano 2.2.6 in mintty
2. The use of either left or right Ctrl keys to use commands doesn't work.
3. Thus, I have to kill mintty to exit nano and I can't use it.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

None of the commands seem to work.

What versions of mintty, Cygwin/MSYS, and Windows are you using?

I'm using mintty 1.0.3 in Windows 7. Nano is version 2.2.6 & cygwin1.dll
reports version 1007.9.0.0.

Please provide any additional information below.

Ctrl-commands work properly in other programs like Midnight Commander 4.7.5.6.

Are you using the native Windows build of nano? That would be a case of issue
56.

The nano in the Cygwin distribution, which can be installed through Cygwin's
setup.exe, is version 2.2.5 and works fine. If 2.2.6 is critical for you, you
could ask for an update on the Cygwin mailing list or build it from source.

How did you get nano 2.2.6 and mc working under MSYS/Mintty?

I didn't say anything about MSYS, nor did you. You'd need to build them using
the MSYS compiler (not the MinGW one), but I don't know whether that can be
done. Questions about that should go the MinGW/MSYS mailing list.

In fact, downgrading to 2.2.5 did the trick. Thanks.
