written messages sometimes disappear when handing over to websms #612

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Write more than one message to same receipient - typing in sms Droid and
sending via betamax connector.
2. Starting with 2nd but sometimes the 3rd or 4th messsage is not visible in
connector and has to be re-written (if not copied to clipboard before selecting
connector)
3. Messages must be written within short time

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Written text should be visible in connectors text field. But textfield is
empty.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest from Android market. Android 2.3.3 (but also tested on 2.3.4) HTC desire
S

Please provide any additional information below.
Could be a bug in copy and paste routine, or in saving written text that has to
be transferred to connector.

just to be clear:

you are writing a few sms rapidly from within smsdroid and sending each via
websms' autosend.
each in a while the message text (not the recipient) gets lost on its way to
websms.
right?

yes.when websms should get and show the message typed in SMSDroid, the text is
gone.

I have had similar problems in the past and lately it got worse.
The problem that I'm having is that autosend now is rarely working. Apart from
that, sometimes, when handing the text over to websms, sometimes, instead of
the text that I've just written, the text of the previous sms (or draft) gets
displayed. Sometimes, I mistakenly hit "send" immediately, and end up
re-sending an old sms - confusing the recipient as a result.

please check the build attached.
i had no time to test it on my own, but it might fix both problems.

please send your logs with a short comment on the issue if it breaks something.

Actually I just had a case where autosend did not work, but at least the text
displayed was correct. I'll try to reproduce it. But it does seem that the
problem is appearing much less frequently now.

I just sent you a logfile with a failed autosend

Unfortunately the problem as reported by the OP happened again (losing the
message and instead displaying an old message in WebSMS, and not sending it
automatically).

Please let me know if you need any further help or if you need more log files.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier as I didn't want to do yet another false claim
that it's fixed.
From my side, it's been working perfectly for the last day using the last
build. Maybe the OP can confirm.
