Running play.coffee against CoffeeScript v1.1.0 works fine. Running against v1.2.0 producs a few exceptions:

Bad indentation on line 438 of basicAI.coffee
A dependency ordering issue in play.coffee which causs BasicAI to be an Array instead of a constructor for some reason
AIs buying nothing, causing games to run on forever
