@friedl do you have an explanation for this?
@stormm2138 I tried replicating this by setting up a brand new VM with CentOS 6.10 and installing rsyslog through the instructions from the website.
I did not find any issue with installing rsyslog from the Adiscon repository. The current version installed just fine instantly.
Can you please try to verify this on your end with a different or new VM?
Also, did you try clearing the yum cache with yum clean all
or perform an additional yum update
?
From following the instructions on https://www.rsyslog.com/rhelcentos-rpms/ -- I add the custom repo, but the rsyslogv8 package doesn't display as available.
Other packages from the repo display as available
rsyslog v5 is currently installed on the instance. When following the same procedure on kernel 6.8 -- the rsyslogv8 versions display correctly.
Is there a kernel version restriction on these packages?
Manually replacing releasever as described in https://github.com/rsyslog/rsyslog-pkg-rhel-centos/issues/13 doesn't work
