Wordpress Media Library #553

Open davidsdesk opened 9 years ago

davidsdesk commented 9 years ago

I'm running rtMedia 3.7.3 on WP 4.0 Beta. Images uploaded through rtMedia are available in the Wordpress Media Library, but WP Media Library images are not available in rtMedia. This means that I cannot create a new rtMedia Album using images that I had previously uploaded using rtMedia. I must upload them all over again. Is it simply possible to access the Wordpress Media Library using your plugin?

Thanks,

David

Hi @davidsdesk

Yes media uploaded by rtMedia can be viewed in WP Media Library because all the media are nothing but post attachments and it is not possible to access WordPress Media Library for rtMedia uploads because rtMedia registers it's own image sizes and use custom directory structure to upload media.

Are rtMedia uploads available between galleries? In other words, if I create a gallery called "Vacation" and upload images using rtMedia, and later create a gallery called "Kids" and want to re-use photographs I had previously uploaded to "Vacation" are they available, or do I have to re-upload everything each time I want to use it?

@davidsdesk As of now you need to re-upload images.

What you are looking for an option where rather than "Upload Image", you get an option to select from existing photos.

"Upload Images" OR "Select from previous upload"

We do not have later in code. We might add it on future.

As of now rtMedia-PRO has a favlist features using which you can create "lists". Lists are similar to album with a difference that you cannot upload to the list.

The list is like bookmark list for photos present in existing rtMedia albums. Even lists do not allow adding/bookmarking photos uploaded directly to WordPress media library.
