What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open a (remote) page which has <img src="file://">-images embedded

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The pictures don't get loaded from the local disk.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chrome 5beta on WinXP

Please provide any additional information below.
While following <a href="file://">, opening local images doesn't work yet-is 
there a chance of adding this?

Sorry for late answer. Unfortunately (as I know) there is no way in Chrome/Chromium to load local images automatically. This is unavoidable restriction of Chrome security model. Even extension can't pass it.
