Grid v 1.8 apparently incompatible with IE8?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Test latest openjs-grid v1.8 in IE8
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
missing buttons and text. Missing styling

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.8 on XP 32 bit - Site hosted on Linux, PHP 5.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Is this a general IE8 issue? I just reinstalled IE8. Grid is perfect on FF9, 
safari and chrome latest versions.

I have this issue, also. However, I've also noticed differences in IE9,7,etc. 
Are you going to add IE support?
